As Bangladeshi fashion steps confidently onto the world stage, a new generation of designers is boldly blending heritage with modernity, reshaping global perceptions of the country’s style identity. From Paris to Qatar, their rise is stitched with ambition, creativity, and a deep sense of cultural pride.

When it comes to Bangladeshi fashion, pioneers like Bibi Russell and Maheen Khan immediately come to mind. Their groundbreaking work laid the foundation for an industry that, though still relatively small in luxury fashion, is now capturing international attention.

Among the standout names leading today’s wave are Tasmit Afiyat Arny, Mehruz Munir, and Tasmim Zobaear—designers who have pushed their brands to new heights and earned global recognition.

“Stride Fashionwear” by Tasmit Afiyat Arny is celebrated for its innovative use of traditional textiles like Jamdani, Nakshi Kantha, and Rajshahi silk, transformed into striking contemporary silhouettes. Arny’s collections have graced international stages, from World Fashion Week in Shanghai to events in Qatar, and are now headed to Miami. Her acclaimed bridal line, Serenova, reimagines Jamdani for a global audience, combining heritage craftsmanship with modern elegance. Beyond fashion, Arny has also made her mark designing the Bangladesh Football Federation’s jersey—where the players’ red uniforms create the national flag when seen from above, symbolizing a fusion of sport, fashion, and patriotism.

In Arny’s own words, “I wanted to create something that felt truly like me—blending traditional Bangladeshi fabrics with global aesthetics. My wedding was the first canvas for that vision, and it’s been a journey ever since.”

Meanwhile, Mehruz Munir, founder of “Zurhem”, has redefined luxury menswear in Bangladesh with his tailored suits and sophisticated ready-to-wear collections. Established in 2015 to fill a gap in local luxury menswear, Zurhem quickly captured the groomswear market and recently expanded into womenswear. This March, Zurhem became the first Bangladeshi brand to showcase at Paris Fashion Week, unveiling its celestial-inspired Solaris collection—a major milestone for Bangladeshi fashion on the global stage. “We wanted to offer a luxury experience right here in Bangladesh,” says Mehruz, “and now we’re proud to present that to the world.”

Tasmim Zobaear, the creative force behind “TZ Studio”, has built an international reputation for his intricate couture. Born in Chittagong and trained in Darjeeling, Zobaear launched his label in 2015 and opened his first boutique in Dubai in 2018. His breakthrough came at Dubai International Fashion Week in 2019, followed by a Paris Fashion Week debut in 2022. Today, TZ Studio’s collections are known for their ethereal craftsmanship, with the Spring/Summer 2025 collection capturing the beauty of a tropical sunset in shimmering silks and delicate embroidery. As Zobaear describes it, “This collection is my ode to a distant island where under the right constellation, a radiant new world begins.”

Together, these visionary designers are not just elevating Bangladeshi fashion—they are reshaping how the world sees the country’s creative potential. With each runway show, they carry forward stories of culture, identity, and innovation, placing Bangladesh firmly on the global fashion map.
