    Captain Tasmin Doja Becomes First Female Flight Operations Director at Biman Bangladesh Airlines

    Captain Tasmin Doja has been named the first female director of the national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines. In an official order dated October 14, 2024, she was promoted from Chief of Training to Director of Flight Operations. Captain Tasmin started with Biman as a cadet pilot in 1993 and was promoted to First Officer on advanced turboprop aircraft in 1996. She has since piloted Airbus A-310, F-28, Boeing 737, and Boeing 787 aircraft. She led the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) team and previously worked as a Flight Operations Inspector for the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh. She was an instructor pilot for the Boeing 737 and F-28, and she has also worked as a Flight Training Instructor on the Boeing 787.

    Captain Tasmin attended Holy Cross School and College in Dhaka for secondary and higher secondary education before graduating from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) with a degree in architecture. She was trained to fly the PA-38 model aircraft at the Bangladesh Flying Academy in 1988. In 1995, she received her ATP from British Aerospace in the United Kingdom, followed by Airbus A-310 training in Miami, USA in 1998, F-28 training from Garuda Indonesia Training Center in 2001, Boeing 737 training from Boeing Training and Flight Services in Singapore in 2010, and advanced training on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from the same institution in 2019. Captain Tasmin Doja has approximately 12,643 hours of flight experience as a pilot and co-pilot, as well as approximately 3,000 hours as an instructor on the Fokker F-28 and Boeing 737.
