In a significant move to attract large-scale foreign investment, Chief Adviser of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun jointly presented investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s manufacturing sector to 100 leading Chinese companies.
Several of the participating companies are among the biggest corporations in the world, signaling serious global interest in Bangladesh’s industrial landscape.
On the very day of arriving in China, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus convened a strategic meeting with all members of his delegation, personally leading the session and outlining clear directives on engaging with potential investors.
This collaborative effort between the Chief Adviser and the head of the nation’s investment board marks a bold and proactive step in positioning Bangladesh as a rising manufacturing powerhouse.
Notably, Muhammad Yunus had personally called Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun and urged him to return to Bangladesh, saying, “Ashik, the time has come to serve the country.” Responding to the call, Ashik returned from Singapore and took on the responsibility of leading BIDA. His recent initiatives have already begun making an impact.
