According to local legend, a powerful deity chose this location to build a sacred pool, ensuring that the waters would never dry up. Over time, the pond became an important site of worship and pilgrimage for the locals. The Tripura community, in particular, believes that bathing in this pond can satisfy one’s desires, and considers it a sacred gift to the locals.

    Best Time to Visit:  The ideal time to visit is during the dry season, from November to February. The weather is pleasant, and the pond is less crowded, making for a more relaxing experience.

    Activities:  Visitors can explore the pond and its surroundings, engage in trekking, and birdwatching, and enjoy picnics amidst nature. The pond’s clear, still waters create a serene setting for relaxation.

    Nunchhari Devata Pond is located about 12 km from Khagrachhari town, on a hilltop at an elevation of approximately 700 feet. Accessible via the Khagrachhari-Mahlchhari-Rangamati road, the pond can be reached by following a one-kilometre hill path from Nunchhari village.

    Where to Stay

    For accommodations, consider Hotel Masud in the main market, which offers budget-friendly rooms ranging from 100 to 200  taka. Other lodging options include Chowdhury Boarding, Sampriti Hotel, Shilpi Boarding, and Hotel Threster, as well as several tourist motels for a more comfortable stay.
