Across the hills from the cloudy sea beach on one side is the village of Penchar Dwip, a well-known tourist attraction today. The middle of the island is home to a road known as Marine Drive. Mermaid Beach Resort opened near the Reju Khal (stream) at the western end of Marine Drive in Teknaf.

Large and small groups of tourists are drawn to the resort because it is completely quiet and surrounded by greenery. Well-thought-out design went into this man-made modern creation. Coconut water from neighboring Whales Egg Hills is served as a special treat to guests at Mermaid Beach Resort, which offers a tranquil and soothing experience.

    Things To Do!

Walking on a sandbar to reach a small, private island in the morning. You also have the opportunity to enjoy other tourism offerings in Cox’s Bazaar. Ask the staff for help in making travel arrangements to the Buddhist site of Ramu or other spots along the expansive Cox’s Bazaar beach. Walk about a mile along the beach at a leisurely pace to Mermaid Eco Resort, the sister resort of Mermaid Beach Resort. Lunch at a calm, partially outdoor restaurant overlooking the beach to the west, where you can sip cool coconut water and take in stunning sunset views. Also there are more activities like:

    Fishing

When the tide is in, head out on a day trip in a boat built like an Arakan. They provide you water, fruits, and other snacks, and the local fishermen will demonstrate how to catch fish the old-fashioned way. We’ll cook the fish you catch for you for free when you get back from your trip.

Any five-night stay at the resort includes the complimentary one-hour fishing trip. Tariffs: 1,000–3,000 BDT/hr.

    Boat BBQ

Any time of day will do, sunset or night. You will be served seven courses while floating on the water, all prepared by one of their chefs. Each group must consist of at least two people. Prices per person start at 3,500 BDT (standard BBQ meal included; premium treats, like lobster, can be purchased).

    Learn to Surf
