Not every Bangladeshi influencer started out famous. A growing wave of digital creators has built genuine audiences from scratch, through comedy skits, cooking videos, stand-up sets, and daily vlogs, rather than riding pre-existing fame from film or television. Here are four creators representing Bangladesh’s real, homegrown digital creator economy.

    Bangladesh’s Real Digital Creator Economy

While Bangladesh has no shortage of celebrities with large social media followings, a distinct group of creators has built their entire public profile through original content rather than an existing career in film, television, or business. These are the people brands increasingly turn to precisely because their audiences feel like genuine communities rather than fanbases.

Mr Absar: The Comedy Creator Brands Trust

Rakin Absar, known online as Mr Absar, has been creating content since 2011, taking several breaks before returning under the Mr Absar name in 2020. He has built his reputation on a distinctive skill: weaving brand endorsements naturally into his comedy skits rather than treating them as separate advertisements, an approach that has led to collaborations with more than 50 brands. He runs his comedy content alongside a small team of regular collaborators, building a consistent, recognizable comedic universe rather than one-off viral videos.

Jaimatea: Comedy From the Stage to the Feed

Amrin Tasnim Jaima, known online as Jaimatea, brings a background in stand-up comedy directly into her social media content. Having performed stand-up for several years, she translates live comedic timing and crowd-tested material into content built specifically for social feeds, giving her work a sharper, more performance-honed quality than much of the skit-based comedy dominating Bangladeshi social media.

Mahim Makes: Cooking With a Side of Comedy

Mahim has carved out a distinct niche by blending cooking content with comedic delivery, turning ordinary recipe videos into entertainment in their own right. Rather than presenting recipes in the straightforward, instructional format most food content follows, Mahim Makes layers humour into the cooking process itself, appealing to viewers who want to be entertained as much as informed.

    Nazib Ninad: Dhaka’s Vlogging Voice

Nazib Ninad brings a different background to content creation, a BBA graduate from North South University and a former radio host at Radio Foorti, he transitioned from broadcast radio into vlogging, building an active presence across Facebook and Instagram. His radio background shows in his content’s conversational, presenter-style delivery, a distinct voice compared to the skit-heavy comedy dominating much of the space.

Why These Creators Represent the Real Influencer Boom

What connects these four creators is that none of them arrived with a pre-built audience. Each grew their following through consistent content over years, not a single viral moment or a career borrowed from another industry. That distinction matters increasingly to brands and audiences alike, in a market where automated tools now track engagement rates and audience trust closely, creators who built their community organically tend to command deeper loyalty than those who simply migrated an existing fanbase onto social media.

What This Means for Bangladesh’s Digital Future

As Bangladesh’s influencer marketing industry continues to mature, creators like these four are likely to keep gaining ground over traditional celebrity endorsements. Their audiences trust them precisely because they built their following the hard way, one video, one skit, one recipe, one vlog at a time, and that trust is exactly what makes them genuinely effective voices rather than just recognizable faces.
